Hi, I'm Maja Kjær, mum, artist and naturelover. I grew up in Denmark, but my soul thrives under the sun, and today I live with my husband and our three children on the sunny south coast of Portugal.

I've always loved drawing and painting, but abandoned art for nearly 20 years to pursue a scientific career. Becoming a mother, however, made me reevaluate many things in my life, an ultimately led me to reconnect with my creativity. Motherhood is filled with love and chaos, and I find a sense of calm in watercolours.

I'm very inspired by nature and the feminine, of motherhood and all the women we are. Feminine values such as love, creativity, intuition and nurture are rooted in all my paintings, from my portraits of women to my art prints for children.
